Ed says about his latest edition, says Ed: “‘Sapphire’ was the first song I quit for Play It made me know where the album was going. That is why I ended the recording process in Goa surrounded by some of the best musicians in India. It was an incredibly creative process. I shot the music video with Liam and Nic over my India tour earlier this year, we wanted to showcase the beauty and breadth of the country and its culture.

“The last piece of the puzzle for me was to get Arijit on the record. It was a trip to get there and such a fantastic day of music and family. Me and him have made a complete Punjabi version of the song that will come out for the next few weeks, which has much more of him on it. This is the album version of the song and my favorite song.

‘Sapphire’ follows from the release of Technicolor Pop Anthem ‘Azizam’ and the heartfelt ‘old phone’, which gives us a taste in what we can expect Play When it is released on September 12. This album looks to see Ed exploring new musical land through collaboration with artists and producers from all over the world, while based on the timeless Sheeran sound that we know and love.
