Far from being a modest contract, the deal is expected to reflect Yamal’s rapid rise– Jorge Mendes pressed on ongoing negotiations and performance -based improvements.
Álvarez de Mon, a Madrid-based lawyer and Real Madrid member known for credible reports on football operations, was the first to confirm Messi’s end 2021. Now he has revealed that the figures are being discussed for Yamal’s new contract. While Joan Laporta will have the last word, the pressure is mounted.
According to Álvarez de My: “Lamine Yamal is very close to reaching a renewal agreement with Barça. He would earn € 30 million per season, plus a bonus for renewal of EUR 10 million annually. It gives his net salary to about € 20 million per year.”

The length of the contract is still under negotiations – either until 2030 or 2031 – with potential review clauses from 2026 based on performance goals. From now on, the 17-year-old is only agreed until 2026 due to age restrictions according to the FIFA regulations.
Negotiations will not be easy for Barcelona, especially with presidential election just over a year away and pressure mount on Laporta. Mendes reportedly advocates for a structure similar to Messi’s last year in the club – where contracts were reviewed and adjusted annually. Yamal’s camp currently has a strong position after the player’s prominent season.
If the proposed conditions are completed, Yamal would become the third highest servant in Hansi Flick’s SquadAfter only French de Jong and Robert Lewandowski. The Dutch midfielder currently earns approximately EUR 23 million after tax, while the Polish striker makes close to EUR 25 million.
