British singer / songwriter Lucy Spaggan Explores the complexity of moving on after handling a series of emotional adversities this week, with the release of its latest single ‘The lesson’.
Given the themes of personal growth, self -reflection and healing, the super -pig track Lucy sees the sensitive balance between vulnerability and resilience as she sings through the pain of dealing with the loss of a loved one.
The spray, which comments on the deeply introspective track, says: “My writing travels with me through life and unfortunately I have learned much more about loss in the thirties. ‘The lesson’ is a song about losing a parent, which I thankfully have not had to endure in the traditional sense. But through parental move and the loss of some dear people in recent years, I was inspired to write this song. I have a lot of love for this song when it moves back to the story, like my older songs, rather than the first person’s observation story as the newer writing. ”
