Carlo Ancelotti has been strongly linked to Brazil’s national team head coach position among reports of his expected deviation from Real Madrid At the end of the season. After disappointing results in the UEFA Champions League, the Spanish Super Cup, and most recently Copa del Rey the final loss to FC Barcelona, Real Madrid managers were reportedly ready to share roads with Ancelotti. The coach had orally accepted an offer to take over Brazil’s national team, but an unexpected twist has now jeopardized the agreement.
According to Globo EsporteThe Real Madrid, fully aware of the conversations between Ancelotti and the Brazilian Football Association (CBF), rejected the idea of paying a release fee to terminate his contract. With his situation, unresolved in Madrid, CBF has reportedly decided to withdraw its offer.
Ancelotti returned to Real Madrid in 2021 and signed a contract extension in 2023 which goes through June 2026. Nevertheless, the club’s leadership has made it clear that they do not intend to move on with the Italian coach in addition to this season and would be open to release him from his contract – just not at a cost.
