5 Seconds Of Summer Release New Single ‘Boyband’

Our favorite pop-punk band 5 seconds of summer continue to tease their new album with the release of latest track ‘Boyband’.

The song is an ode to their fans and a playful nod to the label that has followed them throughout their career. Speaking about the song, the band said: “We’ve always been called a boy band and this song is about us owning that narrative and taking back the power.”

The synth-laden track has an interesting commentary on fame and is a self-reflective and self-aware release from Luke, Michael, Ashton and Calum. With lyrics like “Take my photograph and lick it with a wet tongue” and “Raised on pop punk and bubblegum, stay young, love me till I get it wrong”, ‘Boyband’ is a powerful offering from 5SOS, allowing them to rock out without taking themselves too seriously.

Listen to ‘Boyband’ below.

‘Boyband’ follows the release of the single ‘NOT OK’, both taken from their highly anticipated sixth studio album, EVERYONE IS A STAR!. The album will be released on November 14, marking the band’s first official new music since 2022.
